What is included in the cost of the course?

In the cost of the course, the amount includes an enrolment fee, cost of all materials which are fully supplied.

The cost of our classes is very reasonable compared to other cake decorating schools in WA.  We differ because we have included all materials, supplies, recipes and tutoring in the classes.  You will be taught in a fully live commercial environment.

Our classes also vary because we loan you some of the tools, therefore cutting the cost for the student. Cake decorating is not a cheap craft to enter into.  The supplies are very expensive, therefore, we try and help you as much as possible with loaning tools and equipment.

Do I need to take any of my own tools and equipment?

Everything you require is provided in our classes unless stated otherwise, however, if you feel that upon commencement some of your own tools may help your finished products then by all means you can use them.

There are some materials you may need to bring from home which are basic fundamentals that you will have around your kitchen like bowls, spoons, chux, sift, cornflour, scissors, pen etc. Don't worry if you don't have some of the items required as we normally hold stocks of these to help you.

Can I receive a refund for tools and equipment I already have and not purchase these as part of the course?

No this is not possible as we would like our students have the same products that the lecturer is using so that when we are referring to the equipment or tools everybody understands which product it is. We also have preference to very specific products than others so we try and work with these to give students a much better working knowledge.

What classes should I start with?

It is best to begin at Level 1 as this is a very good refresher if you already are a cake decorator and if you are just starting cake decorating is great as we begin with the basics.

If you feel you are more advanced and should be in a different level it will be left up to the discussed with the student and the lecturer to ascertain which is the right entry point.

What should I wear?

It is very important that the right clothing be worn for cake decorating as the icing used attracts all material fibres.  We ask that the clothes you wear are light coloured cotton clothes and also comfortable for you.  An apron is also necessary.  As we are in a commercial environment we also request that all long hair is tied back.  Closed shoes are a necessity in a commercial kitchen as precaution in case a bucket or heavy equipment fall onto your feet.

Cupid's Delight is part of the "Foodsafe" program and we are very pro-active in ensuring our premises is as clean and safe as possible for our customers, students and staff.
